Alex I think you are falling into the trap I did in rookies, which was to spend too much time racing people, rather than to play it safe are gain rating. That said, you will learn a lot of about iRacing systems and physics racing in rookies, so sometimes it’s a good idea not to graduate too quick!
Yes I agree I’m definitely guilty of racing in the two races I’ve done. The wins were there for the taking but I accept the wisdom you’re all putting out. I can see on my driver profile I have completed my MPR, but I still need to get my SR above 3.0, so that’s what I need to focus on and forget about winning / defending positions too much for now.
Brave half the time I’ll watch a replay and realise I wasn’t as innocent as I first thought 😉
Hehe I do this too to try and learn what happened exactly, whether I was equally to blame and could I have done something different to avoid it regardless of fault.
I noticed this morning the tracks have changed today, so Tuesdays must be the day the week moves on. Thank goodness because I’m not sure I could do another Okayama in the Mazda right now after those two frustrating races 😅
Thanks for your patience and answering all my silly questions chaps 👍
I’ve uploaded the race to YouTube (last lap for the incident) - man does that take a while! OBS caused some performance issues for me in iRacing so I opted for the NVIDIA Experience recording feature which seems to have done a good job and not affect iRacing performance.
