Alex yeah stick what you know for now. Especially just after learning. Honestly, passing your test is only the first step really. There’s a lot more learning to be done in terms of how mad other people can be. Going for a new driving method immediately is probably not a good idea.
Going automatic (obviously no choice with an EV) was super weird for me after 30 years of manual. My wife still grabs for the gear lever (T-Rex style) a lot of the time.
However I will say that it’s made driving so much fun again after a very long time where I really didn’t like it, now that I’m used to it.
But that’s more of an ageing and accessibility thing. My left ankle can’t handle long drives with a clutch anymore, especially if there’s road works or jams. But the MG4 I can happily drive all day. In fact I drove Lily to uni and then came back (5 and a half hours) and stepped out the car with very little issue; something that would have done me in, in our petrol car.
Obviously has nothing to do with 0-60 in 6.3 seconds and 120 plus not very long after. Don’t ask me how I know that.
