Brave I’m not talking about new IPs - I’m not naive enough to expect Nintendo to veer off too far from it’s established characters and franchises, they’ve been well served by them since, well, ever since the gaming industry existed. And millions of people love them, so they definitely would be welcome.
The issue is about new content, not IPs. Quick glance says something like 50% of the things they announced are not new games or DLCs, they’re literally just ports of things that already exist in totality on a previous platform, be it theirs or someone else’s. If you want the Switch to significantly be a retro gaming console then that’s fine for you, but I don’t.
Bluntly, to me this feels like being sold yesterday’s lunch reheated as new. Everyone judges their own sense of value in what Ninty is offering though and if it’s what you want to play, more power to your thumbs.
