I wasn’t overly happy that I spent 40 minutes watching this TBH. Two things mildly piqued my interest. Splatoon 3 and Bayonetta 3 but if I’m being honest, it’s been so long since the previous games were out that it’s starting to feel like reboots of old series’ rather than a continuation.
Yoko Taro’s card game looked intriguing too I guess, but we’re getting to that stage in the Nintendo cycle ( successful cycles at least) where I almost always lose patience with them.
The bit where they rest on their laurels a bit too long for my attention span and it feels like they’ve forgotten the joy.
The addition of N64 games and then especially Sega Megadrive games to the Nintendo Online service eventually made me sit up and take notice briefly but then it appeared that those two are locked behind another tier of paywall. Which… just no. If that’s all you can bring to the the online world when the rest of the online service is a shadow of the others out there. Forget it. I’ll get a mini Megadrive instead.
My worry is that Furukawa San is a bit like uncle Jim at Sony. Not really as in love with gaming itself as his predecessor. Although Furukawa at least is more decisive.
