@Gammerz - Light bar - doesn’t use battery any more than other lights on controllers, can be made dimmer if it bothers you, allows for identification of users controller, allows for more accurate tracking for PSVR players. What about any of that is useless? It’s just a small light passing through a diffuser to give it a larger trackable shape.
Internal speaker - it’s all part of the package that enhances the connection between the player, the controller and the game. It’s not meant to compare with the TV or headset in terms of quality, but the location of the sounds is key to enhancing the connection.
Touch pad has been used in a number of game enhancing ways, from simple scrolling and map zoom to again enhancing the connection between the player and the game.
The key to all this stuff, and adoption of it by developers, is that it is standard and known to be in the hands of every single player. I love the new controller it’s full of genius ideas.
