Two weeks to go until the start of the new season! This has been the longest time between F1 races since I started watching in the early nineties!
Really looking forward to it starting, it’s going to be fascinating. Going to be lots of double headers and talk of ways to spice up the action for the second race. Sadly a reverse grid race was pooh-poohed by the Mercs, presumably because they didn’t want to start at the back. A bit cynical of them if you ask me.
Potentially some new tracks coming, with Imola looking to return, and even Mugello and the Algarve close to holding races. Bahrain is going to host a double header and talk that the second race could be on an alternative layout that’s sort of almost an oval but not really, a bit like the old old Silverstone layout. It’s going to be a really busy few months as they need to get up to 15 races for all the TV money to click into place.
I must say this new calendar looks like it suits the Red Bulls, I reckon they’ve got a good chance of fighting for the championship this year.
