The - obviously prepared in a hurry - Horizon this week on the pandemic was actually pretty good I thought. Pitched at the right level and quite objective on a lot of the issues.

There’s also ‘The Horizon Guide to Pandemics’ from 2009, which is obviously not current but has a lot of useful background in it.

And finally (I’m going to stop plugging the BBC Science unit now) there’s the fascinating ‘Contagion : The BBC Four pandemic’ where about two years ago a bunch of scientists used mobile phone bluetooth tech to simulate the transmission of a pandemic virus around a UK town starting from one person. The data this programme produced has actually contributed to the predictive modelling of the corona virus outbreak. It’s also very similar tech to the way people are proposing doing ‘cloud contact tracing’ via people’s phones.

NOTE: The appearance of the lovely Dr. Hannah Fry in most of these programmes is just a bit of an added bonus.
