First potential proper leak.
Anaconda - 3.5 GHz CPU / 12TF GPU / 16GB RAM with 13GB for games
Lockhart - similar CPU a bit slower / 4TF GPU / bit less RAM
Dev kits apparently more widespread, so a leak was expected. Pinch of salt obviously. When comparing to current machines GPU wise the newer tech is more efficient, so the 12TF is better than 2x an X1X.

NB: Previously rumoured both PS5 and Next Box were double digit TF but not expected to be much over 10TF. So 12TF is definitely higher end expectations. Will add some more detail from the fallout tomorrow.

MS has been holding a few briefings recently too, hence the leakage. The 12TF/4TF numbers are being backed up by Tom Warren (The Verge) on Resetera and linked back to previous tweets he made.

When questioned on that on Resetera he said this too …

mmmm teraflops. Maybe it’s 12, maybe it’s 4. Maybe it’s both? The teraflop mystery continues.

This was all prior to yesterdays leak.

Now a further interesting point on where PS5 sits in this equation. This is what Tom wrote pre-E3, and others have also suggested in pure TF terms PS5 is slightly ahead. This would put PS5 _13TF. The difference between the two being minimal. At those levels everything else like games, services, eco system, experience will matter more to everyone but Digital Foundry.

Got to say if true those numbers are great. When comparing to vanilla PS4/X1 the performance will be more like 16-17TF. :-O

Maybe the Lockhart is to the X1 what Scarlett is to X1X - one targets 1080p and the other 4K? Would that explain less RAM and CPU requirements, to run the same games at lower res? I would prefer this to a diskless version, as many people won’t have 4k screens. I won’t be getting a 4K source other than gaming.

Having said that, just looked at TVs available at Curry’s and it seems most now are 4K and are reasonably priced.

Gammerz It effectively provides a lower price entry to NextGen. By scaling down GPU to 1080p targets and much smaller reductions to memory and CPU it should be able to handle all the games the bigger Anaconda can, just at lower resolution - well that’s the theory. I think you can also assume it might well be discless.

One additional point. It may well help with xCloud. If the majority of the xCloud use is streaming at 1080p to tablets and phones, then why have a load of 4K monsters on the server side? Having a load of Lockhart servers in the cloud makes more economic sense.
