New season updates are now here and I’ve delved a lot more into the end game content. I did the capstone dungeon and upped the world tier to Nightmare. That has brought about much improved loot and one of the few instances in the game post early levels where upgrades feel significant. My damage output and survivability improved greatly.
I’m now flitting about between Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons and Whispers depending on the intensity I can cope with. Helltides + Whispers is full on but offers good rewards and fast levelling (Now level 61). Nightmare dungeons are not too bad and if I want to chill I’ll do some whispers in non-helltide areas. Also trying to keep ticking over side quests, exploration and dungeon completion.
Not started a new seasonal character yet but intend to restart a Druid or Barbarian for the current season and probably skip the campaign.
Loot updates are definitely an improvement, you can still end up with a bag full of crap but the higher level stuff does tend to be more meaningful and adaptable to make them suitable replacements. Shifting of stuff like aspects to a library is a big help.
Overall I’m finding the game a nice comfort food game. I can vary the difficulty in what I do based on chosen activity and there is loads to play around with in terms of build. Ultimately you get to the stage of making numbers bigger so you can tackle slightly harder things and that can become something of a pointless grind. However I do enjoy the journey and recommend not relying too much on meta builds that will suck some of the core fun out of the gameplay loop. A lot of options are available for different classes and they’ve put a lot of work into making those options viable. So explore them and find a way to play that you enjoy rather than trying to skip to the optimum, Obviously there are some core synergies and approaches which work better, but experimentation is fun too.
