PC Gamepass and getting a new laptop has proved to be a perfect storm for me, I’ve finally started using the service and finally gave FH4 a fair go. It’s really bloody good it turns out. I will confess, though, Edinburgh is weird in this game if you know the place. Basic structure of the city centre is kind of there, but it’s very jarring driving down the Grassmarket, and not being able to see certain streets branching off from it (Candlemaker Row for one). Don’t get me started about the Road to the Isles, and Glenfinnan viaduct. I understand why they did it, but it’s just odd being able to drive under it. Edit: it’s not really visible in this vid, but they have a main road going under it in the game, which is just weird.

Anyway. Here I am racing The Flying Scotsman from near GlenFinnan Viaduct ( the Harry Potter one ) to Edinburgh in under 4 minutes.🙄

In short; it’s a bloody good arcade racer that I can’t currently stop playing, but the Edinburgh bit makes me sad as I just want Project Gotham back :(

It’s a good crack. I enjoyed it for a fair while.

Annoyingly, I bought it as it was cross play lol

Brave so have you been playing it on your new laptop or on your Xbox? Does progress/saves carry across between the two?

DrDamn New laptop matey. Might try and download on the x1x tonight and test that out.

FYI/FWIW I’ve resurrected BraveArse on Xbox ;) I might make it permanent, it’s the same email as my windows account so makes Ultimate GP much easier to do. Plus Lily’s language is now far beyond that, that ship sailed at some point in the primary school playground :)

Alex Is that the GeForce experience one? If so then yes. It’s really good IMO. Way better than MS’s own one.

Yeah. The Geforce one uses a chip built into the card to record video without affecting performance, similar to how the PS4 works. The Microsoft one cannot do that, which results in a big loss in performance. The only annoying thing is that you need to trim and compress the video yourself if you want it decent quality. There is a built-in app that will do it, but the resulting quality is not great.

Alex Ah, that makes sense. I did notice the video wasn’t that close to the quality I was playing the game in.

Yeah, if you go into the folder specified in the Recordings tab you can find the raw video files. They are uncompressed and normally several gig in size. I use VLC to trim them and then Handbrake to compress them. That i7 laptop should be able to compress them faster than my old i5 PC anyway. It’s time consuming but the final quality is much higher.

OK cool - I’ll have a look at VLC. Don’t fancy firing up Premiere just for a gameplay vid :)

VLC is very ghetto but it gets the job done, in terms of trimming videos.

Holy thread resurrection! This is shortly to leave GamePass and will also be delisted by the end of the year. Licencing issues. So buy now if you want to retain access - it’s currently only £10.99 on XBox until 12/12/2024.

Have a check of messages from Xbox. If you bought any of the DLC, they sent a code in the summer to get the base game for free.
