Beat the lion boss last night. It wasn’t too hard, only took two tries. Taker’s Flame and Mimic Tear did a lot of the work for me. Not sure where to go next. I’ve only got 2 scadutree shards, I think I’ll have a poke around the map and see if I can find more before attempting anything else.

Beat my roadblock a couple days ago the twinblade boss. It actually seemed relatively easy having gone round and collected scadutree fragments. I’m still convinced people are trying to steamroll it rather than explore.

The level design is insane. It’s like when I first moved to Edinburgh and discovered there were streets intertwined above and below. These levels are so intricately knotted around themselves and I’m constantly finding myself at crossroads with at least three options and having to leave markers to remind myself to explore down other paths. There’s a huge amount of it that isn’t mapped, because it’s twisted under the top level.

I went in thinking it’s not as big as I thought but then I realised it’s so dense and so hidden that it’s actually more like a full sequel than I could ever have hoped for.

Have successfully made my way to the lion boss and just had a couple of goes helping someone else. He seems quite tough so took a detour back out to explore some of the other areas. Also Flame Knight Quindolene is a git and can do one. 😊

Flame Knight Quindolene was vanquished for now. Annoyingly if you bring in help for that fight at the nearby grace there is a good chance you’ll be invaded by a git and that stops FKQ invading as an NPC. I had one tosser last night who would only fight on their own advantageous terms (from distance, up high and with mobs protecting them) and ran away whenever I got remotely close. I ended up using mimic to hide and entice but they only fell for that once before retreating to the roof tops again. I waited them out until they got bored.

DrDamn yeah the invasions seemed to get worse overnight this weekend. It’s almost feels like they’re overwhelming the servers as there was one night where all three of us here seemed to get involved in invasions every time we put ourselves out to help. Normally it’s not every single time.

I thought there’s supposed to be a timer that prevents you getting invaded twice in with succession too but I’ve been in other people’s worlds where they got invaded multiple times and very quickly.

Oddly PSN updated the price of the DLC and refunded me the £2 difference. Which was nice. Would’ve been nice if I could’ve used some of my star points on it though!

I’m finally at the last boss. I made the slightly mad decision after about 100hrs in the DLC that my build was terribly optimised and went back to my Thor Candies lightning build.

I even had to get him past Mohg to even get him into the DLC but he’s just been much better. And after a respec to really optimise for lightning and also lots of exploration to find fragments I’ve been melting bosses that I thought I had no hope with previously.

I also found so many extra areas that are hidden under the surface level of the map. It truly is nearly the same size as the main game it’s just that the map doesn’t show it.

Thoroughly enjoyed it and an actually keen at some point to do new game plus because these new weapons will be so much fun from the very start.

I still have to beat the last bastard though and he’s looking really bloody tough.

I’ve had a bit of a pause. Still at Lion boss but explored some of the other areas available too and got across the big bridge. Am having to limit some gaming due to a long running wrist injury (nearly 7 months) which is taking time to get sorted. Have been referred for a cortisone injection for De Quervains Syndrome (fancy name for inflamation of a a tendon sheath) - symptoms include not being able to give a thumbs up. Along side that a scan found a small tendon tear too, so I have doctors appointment to discuss how the two are related and how best to recover from both next week. It’s my right hand and excessive right stick thumb movements can become painful 🙁

When I’m ready would appreciate a helping hand past the lion boss.

@Brave - instead of getting Thor Candles all the way there could you not have just respec’ed your current character?

Re: Thor. Nah. I love my shonky glow build. He’s crap but he’s cool and I didn’t want to change him so I decided to go back and get Thor though it instead.

Tbh I knew I must have missed a lot of stuff on the map as well so I just thought I’d be better off starting again with a little bit of prior knowledge.

I’m a bit burnt out on it now admittedly and the final boss seems really bloody difficult so I don’t know if I’ll properly finish it at this point.

I haven’t really touched this since Dawntrail came out. Finished the MSQ there a couple of weeks ago but there’s tons of stuff still to go and I’m right into NMS now.
