Just part PSA / part people on the internet are awful / part how the fuck did the devs leave it like this.
So a measured and sensible article goes up warning that the game may induce seizures in some epileptics and that’s enough to see the (epileptic) author getting sent videos to deliberately induce another attack?
I’ve been on my way to changing my tune about anonymity on the net for a while, but honestly these fucks are sealing the deal.
Anyway, if you have the condition, or anything like it, or have anyone in your household that’s the same, then it might be worth waiting to see if CDPR do anything about it. The article itself is very measured and remarkably uncritical of the game imo, but I came away wondering why CDPR would play so close to the line here. It seems off to me.
This isn’t simply the standard “any game can cause seizures” legal warning stuff. This is the inclusion of major triggers including the braindance which actually seems to closely mimic the device neurologists use to trigger seizures during the diagnostic procedure.
Rachel gets horrific migraines which are frequently triggered by flashing lights (and smells) so we’re definitely waiting to see if they at least add a setting to deal with it. Which I imagine would take a while.
