Google Just Gave 2 Billion Chrome Users A Reason To Switch To Firefox
Seems Google are going to restrict the current Chrome WebRequest API, which is used by ad-blocking software such as uBlock Origin to stop adverts from being downloaded. This will effectively stop all ad-blockers from working. Which makes sense for an ad-driven company like Google.
This looks like it will drive more people to other browser, such as Firefox or other Chromium based browsers like Brave or Vivaldi. Another choice might be the new Edge browser from Microsoft, which uses the Chromium renderer, and seems quite good based on my own usage.
Anyway, seems like losing ad-block might be the final thing that pushes me off of Google’s platform.
