Yes, quite. It’s been bubbling under for a while, with various little pushes and prods. I think GamePass and the weight MS has put behind that in terms of quality of content (*) and pricing has forced their hand to make some changes - along with Google Stadia. It’s good to see they have plans to really push rather than bimble along.
(*) Not just the first party day one stuff - which I think is a separate debate, it doesn’t suit the majority of Sony’s output. I do think they could do a lot more with their own back catalogue on PSNow though - for example The Last of Us is still the PS3 version not remaster. They could shift to selected titles being day one on PSNow too - where the structure of the game suits that approach.
