My first thought is “Hardly surprising”. I just think it’s a crazy idea, fuelled by Ian Bell’s customary hubris and if they’re not very careful, it could be the end of them. I used to think Bell was alright, until I saw how he treated customers on the project cars forums, with legitimate criticisms, put to him in a very reasonable way.
He’s clearly not someone who can handle even the suggestion he might be wrong, and that’s not a great position from which to make huge financial decisions that impact the futures of those who work for him.
I mean Google Stadia putting off investors, I get, but cloud gaming has been building a head of steam for a long time now. It’s not a surprise.
It seemed like a poorly thought out stunt then to be frank, and now it feels like another studio on the verge of disaster.
