No it’s not a weird retro/modern fusion MS console. It’s a 360 camera that I’ve been hankering after for a while. Managed to cobble together enough cash with birthday money etc to get one last week and I’ve been having a lot of fun learning the ropes. See below:
I’m planning on using it to help make vlogs about some of the projects I’m working on/have finished. So I can see already how this is going to help me make a video on The Bridges project, for example.
The magic with it is that you don’t frame shots while you shoot. You frame it in post after. I’m not so much actually looking for 360 video ( although I can see some situations where that might be cool ), it’s the highly intuitive editing process that gives me a flat 16:9 video that I’m looking for.
Also, rather wonderfully, if you use a narrow selfie stick, it somehow doesn’t appear as if it’s in your hand. Looks like a drone shot 🙂
Excuse the quality of the edit. I also decided to learn how to edit the whole thing on iPad using LumaFusion despite the fact that I have access to Premiere 🙂
