I really loved Savage Planet until I didn’t. The base game is very much fun, but they do a thing where you need to complete a lot of arbitrary achievement style stuff to progress. For example ‘to get the grappling line you need to reach scientist level two’. Scientist level two requires you to do stuff like ‘kick three birds up into the air simultaneously’. It’s just all very.. disconnected and my motivation waned… Maybe there’s a joke there I’m just not getting, I dunno. But I had a lot of fun in the time I played in it and it is occasionally genuinely laugh out loud funny.

Basically, lot of love but never going to finish it kind of thing.

I can get that. I think that’s somewhat less of an issue with two people playing as the chances are that one person ( me ) is going to arse around with those things and one of you ( Lily ) is going to actually knuckle down and graft =)

I went for the 16 bit RPG, it’s actually half decent.

Coincides with GTAV leaving. Happier with getting to try RDR2 on X1X though 😁

Alex wow that’s cool as hell! Shame about GTA leaving though as I’ll have to dig the disc out again 😕

So I know this has already been said in the XSX thread but when I saw it, it just looked like nothing special. So I didn’t look any deeper.

Then I saw folk taking about it on Twitter today.

Destiny 2 will have all current and future expansions available on Xbox GamePass, not just the base game. I hadn’t made the connection, even though I realised it was f2p and seemed weird to be in GP in the first place.

So, that’s actually very big news. Over a month old I admit but I might link my accounts now for the cross progression and jump in on Xbox.

They’re trying to be on PC GamePass in 2021 apparently.

Oh and that’s this month 🙂

Brave “Destiny 2 will have all current and future expansions available on Xbox GamePass, not just the base game. I hadn’t made the connection, even though I realised it was f2p and seemed weird to be in GP in the first place.”

Bear in mind there’s a ‘vaulting’ process happening in D2 early November. ‘Vaulting’ in this case is a euphemism for ’binning off a load of the older content that hardly anyone is actually playing any more so our game isn’t quite so bloated and massive as a download and patching isn’t a chuffing nightmare’.

This means (there is a Bungie blog post about it I’ll get hold of if people want to read the whole thing) the following will basically no longer be accessible

‘The Red War’ i.e. the ‘base campaign’
Warmind and Curse of Osiris expansions

All related content - story missions, raids, etc etc… will basically be gone. Along with (IIRC) the EDZ, Io, Nessus and Mars as game areas. This also means a lot of other stuff - exotic weapon quests, titles and so on - will also be gone, because it will be no longer possible to complete the content required to get them.

So what you’re actually getting is Forsaken and Shadowkeep. Because from November that’s all there will be - and it does seem the plan is for those still to have paid for bits, although you can get a bundle of both for like 20 quid now. The ‘all future expansions’ part is I suspect another bit of careful language. ALL destiny 2 players get ‘access’ to all the expansions as they launch, but there’s a big chunk of content in each expansion that is tied into the expansion’s season pass which you have to pay for and I very much suspect you won’t get free on Gamepass. So look at it this way - if you look at the overall map of D2 today, from November you’ll have access to about half of it - but then so will the people who have been playing since day one. And you’ll get access to new locations in future expansions in the open world, but you almost certainly won’t get access to the story in those expansions and a lot of the ‘stuff’ - armour, guns etc - will be locked behind a paywall too.

So you get a lot of stuff right now, but you’ve got about two months to do a big chunk of it, because then you won’t have those bits any more. Bear in mind of course this is all true of ALL D2 players, even the ones who paid for the base game and the first two expansions at full price. A lot of people are not happy.

D2 is a F2P game now. And, in the round, it’s a fairly generous one IMO. But my reading is what you’re getting free (at least from November onwards) above & beyond other F2P players is actually Forsaken and Shadowkeep. Which is nice, but it’s probably not what they want you think you’re getting…

I was fairly sure Beyond Light is included with Game Pass as well, that’s what everything I’ve read indicates, I’ve already installed D2 and linked my account. 😃

Fumanstu Getting ‘Beyond Light’ will get you a certain amount of stuff yes - and getting it for free is a lot better than paying what Bungie are asking for it, which IMO is about 25 quid too much. But to get ‘all’ of Beyond Light, you’ll also need to get the Beyond Light season pass, which I suspect - unless something explicitly says so - isn’t included in the gamepass deal. You’l get more stuff than the F2P player will get, but I suspect you’ll get less than you might be expecting.

I know this is true on Playstation but I can’t check on Xbox - on the store are there several versions of Beyond Light for sale? I suspect there’ll be ‘beyond light’, ‘beyond light plus season pack’ and ‘beyond light deluxe edition’ (which is basically beyond light plus season pass plus some real world tat for about 200 quid). What Gamepass peeps will get is very probably whatever’s listed in the basic edition.

Ah that makes sense. I automatically disregard any season pass or battle pass or boondongle pass stuff as being utterly irrelevant. 😃 In Destiny’s case as long as I get the campaign then that’s all I’m really interested in, I’ve never done the raids or any of the high end content because of the grind more than anything else.

Bringing Bethesda Games to Xbox Game Pass

As we shared, Bethesda were early supporters of Xbox Game Pass, and we will be adding Bethesda’s iconic franchises to Xbox Game Pass for console and PC. One of the things that has me most excited is seeing the roadmap with Bethesda’s future games, coming to Xbox console and PC including Starfield, the highly anticipated, new space epic currently in development by Bethesda Game Studios and Doom Eternal, which is coming to Xbox Game Pass on October 1 and for PC later in 2020.

      New games in October …

Doom Eternal (Android & Console) – October 1
      Drake Hollow (PC) ID@Xbox – October 1
Brütal Legend (Console) – October 8
      Forza Motorsport 7 (Android, Console & PC) – October 8 - FINALLY!
      Ikenfell (Console & PC) ID@Xbox – October 8

DrDamn Forza Motorsport 7 (Android, Console & PC) – October 8 - FINALLY!

Unfortunate for Mr Fantana who just this month paid £20 for It

DrDamn ah ok. Are they calling it Android now? Weird move as that’s ostensibly their platform agnostic … uh… Platform.
