For me it’s fascinating as a vivid historical sketch, and in bursts of twenty to thirty hours it can be fairly engrossing, but more than that and I found it felt like a slog. If you can play it in shorter chunks it can be quite nice to return to.
I like the combat, and the writing itself is fine in parts. It’s just wearyingly huge.
