It’s that time of year, new CoD reveal. Not normally something I’d bother posting, but … DMZ is back! Now no longer a “Beta” and access via the full game (which means shelling out £70+ for it even if no interest in the other elements😕)
The original DMZ - in my opinion - was the best thing to come out of the franchise for many years. Extraction shooter with big maps, emergent gameplay, proximity chat, missions etc. I spent hours in it playing with randoms. There is a lot more competition out there now (Arc Raiders, Marathon etc), with more coming. So will be interesting to see what they do with it. The original grew organically over time, and this needs more external structure - stuff outside of a single drop.
The game overall is going to cause some controversy (South Korea attacked by the North), but it does seem like it could be an interesting overall setting.
