Gordon it really does. So much so that I’m thinking of making my steam copy my main copy.
Turns out the cross save stuff was, surprise surprise, actually just PS4 to PS5. Thanks Jim.
I tried out the combat on PS5 last night and was very impressed. The improved VFX change a lot about how it feels although I felt it could do with some haptic feedback.
Actually just a few days ago I watched this video, which was rather timely. I really recommend this channel actually, as it’s run by a designer and he goes into interesting detail about overlooked and underused game mechanics. I found it really fascinating. There’s a video about haggling in video games which was a great watch.
Back on topic. Sentinel encounters are totally different now though. There’s different types which throw up shield barriers, or heal other sentinels or summon higher level sentinels and they just feel as though they’re thinking and cooperating to nail you.
I was really very surprised by it all. The AI sentinel drone and mech companions look really tasty as well.
I think I’ll spend some more time working through the new stuff. I skipped the settlement update and that’s actually proving to be a lot of fun too.
