Couple of hours in and getting close to repairing my space ship ready to go to another planet. I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of this one, lots more to explore and do. The story and quests guide you through a lot of it quite nicely so far.
Have found one bug which was when I found an upgraded backpack. I equipped it and it also left it in my inventory. When I tried to sell that one I got a full back to dash crash. So it’s currently sat there taking up an inventory slot for me 😕
There are lots of nice QoL things in here above something like Minecraft. For a start the hoovering of minded blocks of recently long. Getting rid of crap you’ve accidentally hoovered is also nice and easy. You can also use your bot to search out ores you need, which is really helpful.
The speeder you get is nice for tooling about and you get a decent map with stuff highlighted as you discover them.
Downsides? No way to skip nighttime as far as I can see and it’s a bit dark, so I can’t see very far! You have a torch but it isn’t all that effective, nor are the lights I’ve been able to make so far. Most early feedback mentions the need for power and batteries - and I’ve not been too bother by this yet. They are cheap and easy to make, last a reasonable time (for what I’ve done so far) and you can now stack them in your inventory. I think they’ve listened to feedback there.
Think I’ll fix my ship but stick around a little to explore some more and build something more of a base/house. Then move on.
Combat is actually ok for this sort of game. Mostly ranged from what I’ve done so far. I hate combat in Minecraft.
