I’m still having a great time with my mace and big shield. The moment to moment combat feels great and is so much more engaging than D4.
BTW, if you didn’t find it already, there’s a button in the hotbars called something like “toggle target”. If you enable it, you get something like lock-on targeting with the right stick switching between targets in a Souls-like style. It’s very useful on bosses, maybe not so much elsewhere. I stuck it on a hotbar so it’s easy to turn on when needed.
