Brave
My list :
Street Fighter 6 - I’ve always loved fighting games, but never particularly enjoyed playing them online, it never feels quite right or there’s noticeable input lag or other issues (VF5 on PS3 being the notable exception.) SF6 totally changed that. The online play is just remarkable. I’ve played thousands of matches now and I’d say 99% of them were pretty much flawless. Besides that, it’s a really clever refinement of a bunch of systems from all the SF games and it just feels great to play. JP can get in the sea though. Cheap bastard
Remnant 2 - Loved the first game, love this one. They could maybe add some railings in Remnant 3 though, some of those levels are a health & safety nightmare
Baldur’s Gate 3 - Not sure what I can add that hasn’t already been said. It’s an amazing piece of work
TotK - I didn’t really like BotW and wasn’t expecting to like this much either. It turned out to be one of my favourite games ever. So many lovely moments where I thought “Nah, this’ll never work” and then it did 😂
Wild Hearts - It’s less clunky Monster Hunter with really fun traversal mechanics. I really hope there’s a sequel, it’s a really solid base for a franchise
Honorable mentions :
FFXVI - A great 20 hour game stretched out over 70 hours
Darktide - I don’t love it as much as @Brave, but I do really love my psyker. He’s an awful, horrible little man
Super Mario Wonder - I haven’t put as much time into this as I’d like, but what I have played has been amazing
Armored Core VI - Only just started this but I can tell already that I’m going to love it
Diablo IV - I mean, it’s alright I suppose?
Definitely up for more co-op next year!
