So because I’m me, I couldn’t resist. In a lot of ways it’s as revelatory as the Deck. It really suffers in UX terms simply because Windows. But that also means that it (so far) has run everything I’ve thrown at it. And, plugged in, in 30w performance mode, it’s run it all really well. Even at 15w Destiny 2 runs better than I ever expected.
Plus, Gamepass. Xbox seem to be tentatively treating it as their defacto handheld. You get three months of ultimate with the purchase and I’ve been having a great time with Wo Long on it among others. I’m very very impressed.
Just finished a massive mission on Destiny 2 while the GP is on. Living in the future 😉
The Deck is still the real deal. Especially now, it’s pretty much a console like experience; but I have found it frustrating that some key titles, due to anti cheat more than grunt, won’t work.
I’ve come to realise that over the years I’ve been something of an unwitting handheld fan. I’ve had almost everything (including the Gizmondo 😞) bar the original Gameboy (even then I still have an OG ‘81 dual screen Donkey Kong handheld from when I was a kid in Japan).
I can’t resist handheld machines. And it’s finally converging to the point where the fidelity is insanely close to home console territory.
