MadAndy that could well be true and I could certainly see that to an extent. From a couple of the messages recently, it absolutely seems like there’s been a breakdown in the relationship between him and his engineer for example. And I absolutely think the car has been designed so tightly around Verstappen that not many drivers have a chance.
But the sheer number of repeated mistakes: track limits this week and multiple daft lunges last time round, plus qualifying being abysmal, there’s the sense that he’s just not listening to his team. It could definitely be the case that he’s trying too hard or panicking.
And then you see Piastri starting to give Max a little bit of trouble as a rookie in a worse car.
I dunno. It’s frustrating to watch Perez right now. There’s definitely talent out there that could really keep verstappen honest in the same car. And whatever the reason I don’t see Perez justifying his seat.
