Finished area 2 but I’m definitely getting to a point where I’m scraping through and a no checkpoint run takes a lot more work.
I think I have a theory about ways to increase height and distance when jumping off rails and bill boards although it would be good to have it peer reviewed by the rest of you.
What seems to work for me is to effectively “ping” myself off the rail or board, almost as if I was firing an elastic band. What I mean by that is to hold the stick in the opposite direction of travel until I need to jump and then let go briefly.
So if I’m travelling right on a rail, I hold the stick left (and possibly slightly down to gain height if needed) until near the end, then let go. It feels to me as if I gain speed and height by doing it this way, and I feel like I’m making gaps that were touch and go previously, but there’s still an element that I’m missing, because it’s not a guarantee. It seems to help often, but I think there’s a timing element that I’m missing at the moment.
Anyone else tried this?
